Do You Guys Fantasize About Grown Men Wearing Tights?

It's okay, you're simply part of the enormous demographic of men that play fantasy football every year. I used to love football season, but now it's a little less exciting and that bums me out. Most of the reason for this is because anyone that plays fantasy football becomes obsessed with it and seems to be all they're capable of talking about for the next 17 weeks or so. They say if you can't beat 'em join 'em, but I don't think I'll ever be able to make the switch and become something that I loathe. I refuse to be the "I knew I should've started Turner instead of Peterson" guy. No matter what there's always something they should've done better to make their team score more points but at the last minute they made a costly error in judgement. And everyone thinks they know something about football all of the sudden. Even if they just moved to America six months ago and can't tell you what a safety is (the position or the play).

In closing, I'm proud to be part of the 1%. I'll keep my head held high while the rest of you dicks occupy the shit out of the work computer and incessantly talk about how funny your fantasy team's name is gonna be when you change it for the upcoming Sunday.

Life Is...

Many things. Life, love, stress and set backs. Push on. Don't stop. Never quit. Everyone quits. You don't. You get what you get because you deserve it. You earn it. Work for it. It's not free. Nobody will give it to you. Take it. If you deserve it, take it. Don't steal. Be upfront about it. It's yours. It's mine. For my kids. For my wife. I want it. I'll have it. Bottom line. No need for explanation. Let's toast to what we need and what we want. Let's cheers for all our kids and our family and all the beautiful things and blessings life's given us. Here here. Raise your glasses.

Silence Is Underrated

By now we've all heard the saying, "Less is more" about seventeen-thousand times. So why can't more people apply this wonderful adage in their everyday life when it comes to speaking and having conversations. I don't need to hear about your issues. I don't care that you haven't been feeling well. The fact that you have allergies doesn't concern me in the least. We all have issues in our lives. I have a wife and two young boys at home and a full time job that can at times be pretty hectic and stressful and most of all, tiring. But you don't see me running around looking for sympathy from anyone, and you never will. That's what therapists are for. Or understanding wives I suppose. But I mean, life is tough. It's hard work. Being good at your job on a day to day basis takes a lot of discipline. It takes mental toughness, and depending on your job it can take a lot of physical toughness as well. Being a husband is no different. Being a parent is even tougher. Well, let me rephrase that: Being a good parent is tougher. Anyone can be a father. Anyone can be a mother. Being a good parent is a whole different ballgame though.

But I digress. Suffice it to say I'm not a fan of small talk either. I'll let you know right now I don't give a damn about the weather. I don't give a shit if it hails tomorrow. {It'd be pretty cool to get hail in San Diego in the middle of July though, I have to be honest.} But I have no control over the climate whatsoever, so if all you have to talk to me about is how surprisingly overcast it is tomorrow please do us both a favor and don't even open your mouth. Silence is underrated. Exercise your right to shut the fuck up.

Ice Cube In The Summer Time For Your Cold Glass Of Lemonade

The hot summer weather always inspires me to compile some crazy mixes for the car or to bring to a BBQ or for whatever the hell else I like doing while listening to some of the all time classics. And this can range from soul to classic rock to blues or jazz or even country... kidding about the country of course. Fuck that shit. Unless it's Johnny Cash. But that's a cliched statement so you'll have to forgive me.

Either way, this Ice Cube song has to be on your radar. Maybe if I stop feeling so damn tired and lazy after work and dealing with the kids I'll post up a link to one of my summer mixes for all to enjoy.

Until then, just ride out to the beat...

Eddie Hazel's Masterpiece

While recording Funkadelic's third album, George Clinton instructed Hazel to "play like your mother just died." The resulting 10-minute epic, "Maggot Brain," is an exploration in isolation and despair, and is hailed as the one of the greatest guitar performances in not only the funk genre, but in the history of music.

Since there's no proper video to the album version of this song I figured this video would be more entertaining than staring at a picture of the album cover for ten minutes while the song plays. Especially if you're on acid. This video will kick the shit out of your maggot ass brains if you're on acid or shrooms or even if you're just really high off some crunchy green leaves.

Enjoy...

The Good Ol' Days

I've always been huge into Bay Area Rap and this is one of the best videos from Oakland's heyday. Look at the Zach Morris cell phone in the beginning of the video. Gotta love it. R.I.P. to Dion Stewart {he and his brother were Black Dynasty}.

Beck - The Golden Age

Nothing really needs to be said here because the music speaks for itself like nothing else can, so I'll simply state that if you've never heard Beck's album Sea Change you need to add it to your collection as soon as possible. It'll become one of your all time favorite records and you won't be able to stop listening to it for the rest of your adult life.

Long Live The 6-Pack!

Every day there seems to be more and more breweries packaging their beers in 4-packs instead of the classic 6. The only time this is acceptable is when said beer comes in 16 ounce tall cans. I can let that slide. But when we're talking about regular 12 ounce bottles, I will purchase nothing less than a 6-pack. To be honest, I feel a bit disrespected every time my eyes land on an overpriced 4-pack of some super fancy beer. And trust me, I'm well aware of the best beers in the world and I've tried them all on numerous occasions. But that's really what it comes down to: These breweries want to feel so special about their precious quadruple IPAs that they feel it's warranted to cut two beers out of the equation. Well, I'm here to say that shit just won't fly with me. It never will. And it shouldn't fly with you either. Boycott the 4-pack. That shit is unequivocally unacceptable.

And trust me, I know more about beer than anyone else on planet earth. I was drinking Sierra Nevada Bigfoot Ale Barley Wine in middle school when most of y'all were drinking Strawberry Hill and Thug Passion. I understand that the vast majority of the beers being sold in 4-packs are stronger than average beers. We're talking 8% alcohol and above. But who gives a shit? Who wants to pay $9.99 for four twelve ounce beers? Not this guy. If you showed up to my house for a summertime BBQ with a 4-pack of Green Flash in your hands I'd probably punch you in the throat and smash the beers over your head while laughing hysterically at you. And if I showed up at your house for your birthday party carrying nothing but a 4-pack of Sam Adams I'd expect the same treatment from you. And quite honestly, I'd be livid if you didn't at least kick me in the shins and spit on my forehead.

Enough is enough, fellas. Gas prices are still through the roof with no decline in sight; the recession is taking its shoes off and getting comfortable in your living room; our government is nothing more than a bad joke, and zombies are literally eating faces off of homeless people. And now you're trying to sell me beer in a 4-pack. Fuck you. Shame on you and fuck you. I will not accept your treacherous offer. You're all cowards and I don't know how you sleep at night.

6-Pack Or Die!

Let The Haters Hate

Everywhere you go in life you'll encounter these disgusting, loathsome, deplorable human beings. They'll shoot down your every idea. They'll tell you that you're not talented enough. They'll tell you that you're not skilled enough. They'll tell you that millions have tried and failed to accomplish what you're trying to do so you shouldn't waste your time. Or better yet, they'll tell you that you have to be "realistic."

What is realistic anyway? What does that even mean? Was Thomas Edison realistic when he invented the phonograph? "You mean you wanna play music that's been recorded onto a cylindrical disc for all to hear? Impossible, Mr. Edison. You should check yourself into the looney bin post-haste." Was he realistic when he decided to create a device that could record moving pictures? Who knows when cinema would've come into existence or where it would be today if it weren't for him. I'll tell you this much: We probably wouldn't be watching movies like Avatar if it weren't for Edison. Not yet anyway.

Or crazier yet: Was Edison being realistic when he decided that candles might not be the best way to light up a room? You know, because of the risk of fire and whatnot. Because of this, Thomas Edison decided to create a bulb that would light up a room by use of electricity. These days light bulbs are used quite often. Good thing Edison decided to say fuck you to the haters. And that was almost exact verbiage, by the way. Nearly verbatim. I believe what he was actually quoted as saying went something like this: "To my many detractors and those not willing to merely attempt comprehending some of the ideas I have to improve this magnificent world we live in, I have but three simple words: Fuck you, haters."

So don't hate. Congratulate. And come participate. Cheer on your friends and your family members and your colleagues. Be a supporter, not a bitch. And trust me, I understand that once in awhile you're going to encounter a situation that you might feel the need to be "realistic" about in order to "help" someone. For instance, what if a one-armed man came up to you and told you he was going to be a professional baseball player one day. You might be inclined to laugh at him, right? Hopefully not to his face because that would be rude as fuck. But I mean, you probably would think he'd be wasting his time to even try, correct? But don't you think Jim Abbott already knew that? It didn't stop him though, did it? He not only played professional baseball for over ten years, but he also was a contender for Rookie of the Year in 1989 and in 1991 Abbott came in third place for the highly coveted Cy Young Award {for those clueless regarding all things baseball that means he was in contention for the title of best pitcher in the league that year}.

So fuck being realistic. Be real; real to yourself. That's all that matters. Let the haters do what they do best. After all, the hatred they spew is nothing more than a projection of the way they feel inside about themselves. They'll never accomplish anything in their lives until they can shed their snake skin and become rejuvenated and ready to attack the world in a positive way.

My Funeral Song: Ladies & Gentleman... Mr. William DeVaughn

Please play this song at my funeral. That's all I ask. Ok, maybe that's not all I ask. I also ask that everyone dances and has a blast. And everyone must have a brown bag 40oz beer of their choice. Or some local San Diego beer from Lost Abbey or Ballast Point. But no Stone. Fuck Stone. Shit's overrated as all hell. And the people that work there are douchebags for the most part. And I don't even like the word "douchebag," but I'm gonna use it here because it fits.

Treyvon Martin Didn't Deserve To Die

That's the bottom line. I don't know why America is still so disgustingly racist that they feel the need to defend a murderer like George Zimmerman, but the facts are the facts: We as a country are still extremely racist. And the sad part is we're going to continue to be that way for a very long time to come. It makes no sense to me. But I blame the parents more than anything. If you grew up in a family of Ku Klux Klan members you'd most likely grow up to be a Klan member yourself. Or if you were raised a vegetarian you'd probably view eating filet mignon as a wrongful act. Or if you came from a family of religious zealots you'd unfortunately grow up thinking that all gay people are going to hell. I don't pigeonhole myself when it comes to political parties and stances, so it's easy for me to poke fun at those that do. But I don't want to create enemies for no reason either, so I try not to be too offensive and immediately turn off an enormous group of people. At any rate, I was fortunate enough to grow up in a very diverse environment between the schools that I attended, the friendships I made, the situations I put myself in, etc. Because of this I learned one enormous fact and invaluable life lesson: There are good and bad people of all colors. There are worthless white people. There are great white people. There are scumbag Asian people. There are incredible Asian people. There are shitty black people. There are amazing black people.

You get my point.

Here are the facts: Treyvon Martin was killed on February 26th, 2012. George Zimmerman followed him around his neighborhood into an apartment complex even when the dispatcher advised him not to do so. As a result of Zimmerman's racial profiling {call it what you want} a young man's life is lost and his family continues to mourn. It doesn't matter what happened after the pursuit began. It doesn't matter if Treyvon threw the first punch or called Zimmerman names or even if he said he had intercourse with his mom {I made all those things up, by the way}. It doesn't matter. That's entirely irrelevant. What matters is that a life is now lost forever for nothing. For no good fucking reason at all. Zimmerman never saw Treyvon commit a robbery. He never saw Treyvon steal a car. He never saw Treyvon abuse a woman. George Zimmerman never saw Trayvon Martin do anything outside of walking around his neighborhood to purchase some skittles and a drink for himself and a friend/family member {in other words "look suspicious"}. And now he's gone. For what? And why? Should it be okay to get a suspicion about someone that's merely walking the streets and then go follow him and ultimately kill him even though he was innocent the entire time? Because that's what happened. And it makes me sick to see all the comments and posts people are making on the television and the internet defending what George Zimmerman did. They're saying he's innocent. That he was "defending himself." Essentially what they're saying is that Treyvon Martin deserved to die that night. It's ridiculous. It's absolutely sickening, revolting, and flat out ridiculous. How would you react if someone was following you in their car late at night and then approached you asking what you were doing? Zimmerman already made up his mind that he was following a criminal. He approached Treyvon Martin as such. How would you feel? Would you be kind and understanding? Would you explain that you were merely buying some Skittles for a family member or a friend? Or would you be angry as fuck and want to hurt the person that had been following you in his car at night with the high beams on for the last 20 minutes and scaring the shit out of you?

No matter what your reaction may have been, at the end of the day Treyvon Martin is dead and he didn't deserve to die. Call it racial, call it a misunderstanding, call it what you will. A life is lost and it didn't need to happen. George Zimmerman is to blame for an innocent life lost. Treyvon Martin is dead because of an overzealous, trigger happy Paul Blart Mall Cop/Seth Rogan in Observe & Report scumbag motherfucker trying to play cops & robbers in real life. Taking an innocent life is not a game. And what happened in this case will hopefully open a lot of eyes to the kind of things that still happen in our country on a daily basis. This case says a lot about how severe the problem of racism still remains in America and I can only hope we can learn from this. Privileged white people love to say that racism doesn't exist and they often cite having a black president as a major example of proving said statement. The fact is -- and anyone with a brain can attest to this -- electing a black president has in a lot of ways only acted as a blanket to cover up just how prevalent racism still is in our country. I was born and raised in San Diego, and most people will tell you that they consider our city to be one of the most liberal places to live in the good ol' U.S. of A. If that's true I'm even more scared about the current state of America. I never thought I'd see so much racism in San Diego till I started working in North County five years ago. I felt like I was in Mississippi the first month I was there. To hear the way people so nonchalantly made racist comments and summarily dismissed anyone that wasn't white as being obviously inferior, it really shocked and disgusted me. It still does. It always will. And it really woke me up to how enormous of a problem racism still is in our country. We all have to take it upon ourselves to change it. We have to raise our kids the right way and show them that color doesn't define who is good and bad. We have to put people in their place when they make bigoted comments. If we don't, who will? Martin Luther King can't. He was assassinated. Malcolm X can't. He was also assassinated. So who's going to step up and do their part in making this world a better place for all of us? Stop looking around for someone else to raise their hand. Raise your own hand and start making a difference right now.

Killer Mike w/ El-P - Reagan (Produced by El-P of Company Flow)

Pretty amazing stuff right here, folks. Killer Mike and EL-P just released this gem of an album entitled 'R.A.P. Music' and I strongly suggest any hip hop fan add this to their collection immediately. Every song is wonderful. These guys really know how to put together an album and not just a collection of songs. Controversial, insightful, angry, rebellious, and just straight up solid from front to back. How many albums can you pop in and press play without ever wanting to skip a track? Not too many, right? Well here's your medicine. Take it and smile. A real breath of fresh air to a genre that really needed something fresh. And pick up EL-P's solo album 'Cancer4Cure' while you're at it. I just saw him perform 'Stay Down' on Letterman the other day. Big things for independent hip hop.

Support important music from passionate artists that truly care about making good music first and foremost over album sales and ring tones. If you build it, they will come. Well these guys just built a classic album some come and get it. And no, it's not too early to call this album a classic. Buy and you'll see for yourselves.

To The Mother Of My Children And Love Of My Life

Thank you for your unconditional love and your unwavering support. This year hasn't been an easy one and it's not even halfway over.  At times I felt like I'd never be the same person again due to a few events that took place. And maybe I won't be the same person ever again. But there's two ways to look at it. I could say, "I can't wait for this year to be over so I can start fresh in 2013." Or I can say, "The next eight months I'm going to rebuild myself into the strongest person I've ever been." With you by my side through all of this, I know I can do anything and that's why I'm choosing the better option. I can accomplish my goals without fear or doubt. Fear is self-sabotage, and we all can be guilty of it from time to time. We listen when people shut down our ideas. We second guess ourselves until all that remains is a beaten down shell where an optimist used to reside. Instead of letting fear control us we have to believe in what we're passionate about. People are scared of the unknown, and they're scared of what they can't do or what they feel they can't do. And as a result of that fear those same people want to bring you down with them because they feel weaker when they watch someone succeed. They'll never bring us down. Our family is too strong.

I've said this many times and I'll continue to say it because quite simply, it's true: I'm extremely blessed. I'm blessed to have such a wonderful family that has my back without question. I'm blessed to have found such a strong, intelligent and beautiful woman to hold my hand and stand by my side through some of the toughest, most challenging times of my life. Most women would've quit long ago. People do it everyday. But she never did. She never quit me. She never walked away from what we have. And because of that I feel like she never will. But I refuse to take advantage of that and I refuse to take her for granted. At times I feel like she deserves better than me. But she loves me so much that I know she disagrees. And I love her the same way she loves me. I always will. They say the only thing constant in life is change. I'm here to say that my love for Diannica Tidwell Johnson will never change. But maybe I'm wrong. Maybe it will change. But if it does, I can promise you that the only change will be that my love will continue to grow for her. Our bond will only become stronger over time. I met her in 2001. I had just turned twenty-one years old. Most people would've enjoyed being single and hitting the bars and clubs and not bother with relationships or they'd say something stupid like, "I don't wanna get tied down by a woman." That thought never crossed my mind the day I met Diannica.

The fact is, the day I met you Diannica, I knew my life would change forever. And I was right. That's the day God blessed me and that's the day God started the creation of our beautiful family together. I love you so much and I wouldn't change a thing if I could. Thank you.

Happy Mother's Day,

Are You Too Tough To Say I Love You? No. You're Too Weak.

First off, Rest In Peace to Adam Yauch aka MCA of The Beastie Boys. Since 2009 he'd been battling the vicious and indiscriminatory disease that is cancer. He'll never be forgotten as his music and personality and numerous philanthropical ventures will always be remembered and continue to live on. He was 47.

And that's why I'm here typing this right now. I'm here today to say something so simple yet so difficult and often overlooked: Tell your loved ones how much they mean to you. Tell them right now. Call them. Send them an email if it's easier. It's the thought that matters. They say it's not what you say but how you say it. Well, that's not entirely true. The truth is, as long as you genuinely mean what you say you're golden. So if you're not gonna mean it, don't even bother saying it. As adults we come to realize that on any given day we can perish. But we tend to forget that from time to time. So we end up taking things for granted. We take our relationships for granted. We take our marriages for granted. We take our lifelong friendships for granted. We even take our children for granted. But here's what I know: I'm 31 years old and in the best shape of my life. 31 seems young enough, right? But think about the millions of people that weren't fortunate enough to make it to 31. Or to 21. Or even to their first birthday. Very sad, right? Stop crying, pussy. Smile and thank whatever God you believe in and take advantage of your time on this Earth. If you don't believe in God thank yourself because obviously you're more powerful than any other human being ever to walk the Earth and you're the only reason you're here today. It's not your parents. It's not their parents. It's not the dinosaurs or the cavemen or anything else that helped you get here today. It's you. You're almighty, Bruce. So thank yourself. And I should thank you, too. But I won't. Because you're stupid. Just kidding. Kind of.

Tangent over. Bottom line: Make a difference. We're all more than capable of doing exactly that. None of us are so weak and unintelligent that we aren't worth the time of day. Time is truly of the essence, folks. It's the most valuable thing you can give someone. Especially a stranger. You can argue that love is more valuable when dealing with family; but love is given through time. If you never see your loved ones, how much love are you really giving them? If you live in a different city or a different state or harder yet, a different country, you have to give them your time in a different way. Seeing them is too costly. You obviously should do everything you can to travel to them or to have them travel to you, but I understand that times are tough all over and it's easier said than done. So give them a ring on the old telephone if like to keep things old school style. Shoot them a text message if you're feeling kinda lazy. Fire off an email right quick if you're a better writer than you are a talker. Or if you wanna show off how much weight you've lost while telling them how much you love them double click on that Skype icon on your desktop and Skype the living shit out of 'em. It'll put a huge smile on their face, I promise. It'll mean the world to them. Imagine how great it would feel if your son just sent you a text saying how much he loves you and how grateful he is that you're his father. If you don't have kids yet, imagine how great it would make you feel if your mother or father or grandpa or uncle sent you a text saying how special you are and how much better their life is because of you. If you can look me in the eyes and honestly say that it wouldn't do shit for your soul to have a loved one tell you these things, go ahead and do the world a favor: Find a bridge and jump off. I mean, don't do that. But honestly man, don't be an idiot. Have a heart. It doesn't make you a pansy. In fact, it makes you more of a man than you currently are if you can learn to tell someone you love them. Improve yourself now. Don't wait till tomorrow. Do it now. Because after all... we're not even promised tomorrow.

I love all of you guys. Everyone that's reading this right now, and everyone I've ever met and spoken to on a personal level: You've all made a difference in my life. Even if you've only had a negative impact on me, I still thank you. The reason being: I turn negatives into positives. In other words, you literally can not fuck with me. So thank you to everyone that's helped me grow as a person. I truly hope I can do the same for you someday.

The Murder Of Sports

Sports fans are killing other sports fans and it's nothing new. It's been happening for hundreds of years. Maybe since the beginning of organized sports. But why? And for what? Instead of black on black violence, now we're dealing with wack on wack violence. Am I the only one that finds it stupid as fuck how angry people get over a business that doesn't even pay their salary? Not only that, these sports teams don't give a fuck about you. They just want your money. But when is the last time they asked for your input? Sports in general are a joke. It's disgusting how much money the owners {and players to an extent} rape us for on a daily basis. And this is coming from a guy who grew up playing sports and was better at them than the vast majority of the population.

My father played baseball for SDSU and was drafted by the Baltimore Orioles. My uncle played golf for SDSU then became a golf pro and taught for one of the most prestigious clubs in San Diego County. I was the starting 3rd Baseman on a Little League All Star team that one summer became the best team in San Diego County. Do I sound like Al Bundy yet? I'm just saying. I played college ball too until I blew out my throwing arm due to plenty of dumb decisions in my formative years. In other words, I grew up competing with the best. San Diego, and the West Coast in general, has the best baseball in the world. It's a fact. We're at an advantage due to our year around amazing weather, so of course we have the best baseball. You think Alaska can fuck with us? Shut up. Because of that fact I played and competed with Ricky Williams, Eric Chavez, Aaron Haarang, Chad Hutchinson, Mark Prior, and the list goes on and on.

I know about good athletes and sports and I could go on forever about the wonder years spent at Polk High but I'll spare you. The bottom line is this: There's no reason why any of these athletes should be paid more than someone that's saving lives on a daily basis. Or someone that's giving their all to repair the more than damaged world we live in. I know I'll get a lot of flack and negative comments on this {bring it on, playboy} because people live and die by the very teams that don't give a fuck about whether their fans live or die, but who cares. Some things need to be said. The only time I'll attend a game is if I get free tickets or if the wife guilts me into going with the kids. And even then it's hard to afford. They charge 9 bucks to drink a beer. 8 for a soft serve. 7 for a hot dog. Shit, one day they're gonna charge me to take a piss. But when is enough enough? As long as the fans keep drinking the Kool Aid they'll keep on selling it. And can you blame 'em? My thing is, the average American family should be able to afford to enjoy a damn baseball game here and there. I mean, fuck. They only play 162 of them motherfuckers, right? And I'm not asking for a box seat. Just a good outfield spot so I can chill with the kids and my wife.

But it's like they've been saying for years: The rich get richer while the rest get fucked. If you've had enough, stop giving them money. If not, keep suffering. Enjoy that shit. Enjoy the Kool Aid. Cherry's the best flavor.

Some Decent News Regarding Eddie Jackson's Murderers

I say decent because they haven't been found guilty in the court of law yet. But rest assured they're gonna get theirs. Revenge is a dish best served cold and with a glass of good Irish whiskey.

SAN DIEGO Two brothers have been charged in a January shooting that left one man dead and another wounded in Lincoln Park, San Diego police said Tuesday.
Antuon Grey, 24, and Deandre Grey, 22, were already in custody for unrelated crimes when they were charged last week with murder and attempted murder, police said.
Edwin Jackson, 32, was killed by the gunfire on Jan. 21, and a 42-year-old man was injured.
Police said the victims were standing in the parking lot of an apartment complex on Solola Avenue about 4:30 p.m. when two men walked up to them and shot them.
The assailants then ran to a waiting car and fled.

WOW

WC is the shit. And DJ Crazy Toones is as well. They're both insanely good; amazing even. They always were. Two turntables and a microphone type shit. No digital bullshit. Real shit. Authentic hip hop the way it was meant to be. The way it's supposed to be. Enjoy it. And yeah, maybe they took a different path or direction than you would have liked; but they're still here and their classic material is timeless whether you like it or not. You're welcome for this.

Less Complaints. More Solutions.

What good is complaining going to do for you? Where is it going to get you in life? Is it going to further your career? Your happiness? If you need to vent, that's one thing. But to offer nothing but complaints about something that's making you unhappy -- whether it be work related or relationship related or whatever -- is a worthless venture. It'll never prove fruitful. You'll be left with nothing but anger and resentment. You'll take it out on those you love. They don't deserve it. After all, you only have yourself to blame. If things aren't the way they should be, change them. If your job is making you unhappy, get a new one. If your lady is bringing you down, let her know. If she doesn't care, leave her. If your man is a scumbag, kick his ass to the curb and put yourself on the market. Your happiness is too important. You must not compromise it. Life is entirely too short to make such a mistake. You're not guaranteed another shot after this. The fact is you have a life now. That much is for sure. Don't waste it.

And don't make excuses, either. Because nobody cares. Yes, I'm well aware of the recession. But don't let that be your reason for not trying to get a better job. It's not a reason. It's an excuse. Look for a new job. Cater your resume toward a new career and move forward with your life. Never move backwards. Never be stagnant. Everyday is a blessing. Remember that. You had a shitty day yesterday? Who cares? I certainly don't. Make today better. How can you improve yourself and your surroundings to ensure that today is better than yesterday? Some people learn the hard way. Some people never learn. And making mistakes is simply a part of life. It's what you do afterward that defines you.

Take this advice with you. Take these words and live by them. Pain is inevitable. Suffering is optional. Don't be a victim.

Soak Up Some Knowledge. God Bless You All. Yes... Even You.

Nothing to do with the video above, but for all those that are scared of religion: I don't blame you. Millions have died and continue to die as a direct result of misdirected anger stemming from religion. If you feel your religion is telling you to kill, just do yourself a favor and kill yourself. Don't kill someone else. You must find peace in your lives. Somehow. I didn't create the world. Someone did. Who was it? Not sure. But who cares? You won't find all the answers in life. You never will. So relax. Chill. Take a sip of wine. Take a pull from your joint, if you will. Swill some ice cold beer from the refrigerator at the store. Sculpin IPA by Ballast Point? Sure, good choice.

Everything to do with the video: David Banner speaks the truth. People need to open their eyes. It's not about black and white. That's what they want us to believe. They want all minorities to kill off each other and steal and rob from each other. They're scared that one day the middle class and the working class and the lower class will take over the country -- maybe the world. The media tried to deceive us once again with the Treyvon Martin case. The law tried to cover up his murder; sweep it under the rug. How many thousands, millions of people have died in similar situations to this? Only they didn't receive any attention and so their murderer wasn't brought to justice. Don't let them fool you. Don't let the government fool you. We're smarter than them. It's time to prove it. Let's come up with answers, not just complaints. How can we change things? It starts with knowledge. Know your enemy. Know your opposition. Research. Do the math. Inform yourselves. Don't embrace ignorance. That's what they want you to do. You're feeding into it. Don't eat from their hands any longer. Make your own meals. Grow your own crops. Plant your own seeds.

Backwards Ass School Board

Click the link above, guys. Then read below.

Hilarious, right? Is it just me or is it sickening how many idiots are granted permission to be in charge of anything. Anything. Think about your bosses. Do they deserve to be there? Are they good people who you respect and possibly admire? If you said yes, congratulations. Good for you. You're very fortunate and I wish more people could respond the same way. Too many people that are in charge of our government and our school boards and everything else that matters in life are quite simply unfit for the job. Mentally handicapped troglodytes in some cases. It's time for good people to step up and take this over. Take it to the promised land. For Martin Luther King, Jr. And for Malcolm Little. And for Marcus Garvey. And for Nelson Mandela. And for Steve Biko. And for Che Guevara. And for Poncho Villa. And for Karl Marx. And for everyone else that fought and died or is still fighting for truth and justice. Real truth and justice. Not what we've been taught to be truth and justice. Because, let's be honest: What we've been "taught" is mostly lies.

Let Sleeping Dogs Lie.

Because if you don't, they'll bite. And yes, he got shot by a stun gun at the end which sucks not only because he didn't start the fight but because his fall to the concrete could've killed him if he landed on his head the wrong way.

Gotta give a shout out to Danny Steinell for showing me this video today. Good stuff.

They Tell Me I Shouldn't Be So Angry

Do you agree? Maybe I need to cheer up. It's just hard when you see so much negativity everyday. I feel the need to tell people when they're being an idiot. Maybe they don't even realize it. Or is just that they don't care? They embrace their stupidity. They console their hatred. They nurture being a shitbag like it's a precious baby boy birthed from the womb. I don't get it. I never will. So what do we do about the pedophiles? Let them do their time and get released back into the wild so that they can start scouting the playgrounds once again to molest another child? What do we do about the killers? Let them murder and then spend our hard earned tax dollars to keep them alive in prison for the rest of their lives? What do we do about the rapists? Let the system try to rehabilitate them so that they can get released and get right back to doing the same thing again? What do we do about the corrupt and backwards government, and the shady politicians, and the crooked congressman, and the dirty cops, and all the corporate greed that continues to destroy not only our economy but our wellbeing as a people every single day. Americans need work. Why are we giving it to people in other countries when we need it ourselves? We fucking need work. Do they hear us? Do they? Yes, of course they do. But they choose not to listen.

So what do we do? Do we just shrug our shoulders and walk away? Look the other direction, maybe? Something's gotta give, no? The fact is, you can't fix a sick mind. It's sick. It's tortured. It's ruined. You can't fix everything. You can't repair the damaged and morbid sickness that lives inside of these twisted human beings. They have multiple screws loose. They're done. What do we do when animals, whether wild or domesticated, flip out and bite a child? We put them down, right? Well these rapists and murderers are nothing more than sick animals. They've bitten once and they'll bite again. I hope they don't bite me. I hope they don't bite my beautiful wife. I hope they don't lay a finger on my two amazing young boys.

Love Those That Love You...

... but don't let love fuck up your vision. How much love did your loved ones have when you were broke or doing time in prison? Ask yourself this: How many people do you know that you'd feel comfortable with calling at 3am when you're stranded on the side of the road with a flat tire. Those are your friends. The rest are simply people you're "cool" with. Nothing more. Sorry. Didn't mean to get you fired up for some big blog post. Fuck a blog. That shit just sounds stupid. But it's cool. I got my own website now. www.BlueCollarGangster.com baby. I own the fuck outta that shit. Rejoice.

What Motivates You? Does The Company You Work For Know The Answer? Probably Not. Oh, And ADHD Is Fucking Bullshit.

Interesting stuff. And although this isn't related to the video, ADHD is a myth for the most part. Maybe a minute percentage of people diagnosed with it actually have it. So don't buy into that bullshit. The real problem is that the kids aren't being stimulated mentally. They're bored. Were you bored at school? Who wasn't? Find out what the kids excel at and stimulate them accordingly. Drugs certainly aren't the answer. It's simply going to slow down their brain and make them worse in a different way. Slow them down, make them dumber. Great result, right? Get your kid off that shit and take them to a museum. Find out what they're passionate about and stimulate them. They'll end up getting a job doing what they love if you embrace their passion and provide it to them. If not they'll end up hating school and working at McDonalds. It's your choice. You have nobody to blame but yourself if your kid doesn't succeed in life. Again... for the most part.

Wake Up, Working Class. It Is Our Destiny To Displace The Capitalist System

I agree with pretty much everything this man has to say. If you don't, that just means you're filthy rich; or an idiot. Or a filthy rich idiot.

Karl Marx said it was the destiny of the working class to displace the capitalist system, with the dictatorship of the proletariat, abolishing the social relationships underpinning the class system and then developing into a future communist society in which "the free development of each is the condition for the free development of all." In Capital, Marx dissected the ways in which capital can forestall such a revolutionary extension of the Enlightenment. Some issues in Marxist arguments about working class membership have included:
  • The class status of people in a temporary or permanent position of unemployment.
  • The class status of domestic labor, particularly the children (see child labor), and also traditionally the wives of male workers, as some spouses do not themselves work in paying jobs outside the home.
  • Whether workers can be considered working class if they own personal property or small amounts of stock ownership.
  • The relationships among peasants, rural smallholders, and the working class.
  • The extent to which non-class group identities and politics (race, gender, et al.) can obviate or substitute for working class membership in Enlightenment projects, where working class membership is prohibitively contradictory or obfuscated.
Some answers to some of these issues, as argued, analyzed, and formulated over the centuries, are:
  • Unemployed workers are proletariat.
  • Class for dependents is determined by the primary income earner.
  • Personal property is clearly different from private property. For example, the proletariat can own houses; this is personal property.
  • The self-employed worker may be a member of the petite bourgeoisie (for example a highly paid professional, athlete, etc.), or a member of the proletariat (for example, a contract worker whose income may be relatively high but is precarious).
  • Students' class status depends on that of their family, and also on whether they remain financially dependent on them.
  • Race, gender and class are overlapping social stratification categories. It is possible for capitalists to strategically substitute the members of race, class, and gender groups to attain capitalist objectives; but once these stratification categories are formed and deployed, membership balkanizes experiences and interests.
In general, in Marxist terms, wage laborers and those dependent on the welfare state are working class, and those who live on accumulated capital and/or exploit the labor of others are not. This broad dichotomy defines the class struggle. Different groups and individuals may at any given time be on one side or the other. For example, retired factory workers are working class in the popular sense; but to the extent that they live off fixed incomes, financed by stock in corporations whose earnings are profit extracted from current workers, retired factory workers' interests, and possibly their identities and politics, are not working class. Such contradictions of interests and identity within individuals' lives and within communities can effectively undermine the ability of the working class to act in solidarity to reduce exploitation, inequality, and the role of ownership in determining people's life chances, work conditions, and political power.

The position of core capitalists is not nearly as contradictory within a capitalist system. Capitalists get their income, wealth, status, and power from owning the means of production, and they will have it managed for their own aggrandizement. From the capitalist perspective, it would be silly to manage production (or build political resources that could influence economic relationships) for the benefit of workers. To the extent that workers sometimes benefit in some ways from capitalism, it is not a central goal, but a byproduct. Thus, operating with less class interest contradiction and less identity contradiction, and more resources for political coordination, capitalist class members can often coordinate and prosecute their interests with a great deal of efficacy, over and against workers.

Democrats & republicans: Bloods & crips.

That's all it is. As long as this is the way it's gonna be this country is fucked. It's war. Every single fucking day it's war. Nobody is right. Nobody is wrong. Fuck that. Everybody is wrong. Why does it take someone like me to stand up and point out such obvious bullshit? Am I smarter than the entire world? No, not at all. I didn't go to M.I.T., did I? So I can't be that smart, right?

Where does that leave us? How do we fix this enormous problem? How do we get rid of the two party system? Do we give up and walk away because that's the way it has been for centuries? Do we turn our cheek and head in the other direction while the world continues to go to shit? I mean, if we have to vote for a Blood or a crip I guess the only intelligent thing to do would be to vote for the candidate that has your best interests at heart. But do politicians even have hearts? Of course not, but we have to vote for someone, right? Because what's the alternative? Let other people decide our fate? That wouldn't be very smart. So I guess we have to vote Democrat for now. Republicans are so disgustingly rich and out of touch with anything and everything in reality that they certainly don't have your best interests at heart. Realistically, if you can't afford to buy a Rolls Royce they want nothing to do with you. They simply want to get richer. And richer. And richer. In other words, if you're middle class or lower class and you vote republican you're simply uninformed. Sorry to be so harsh {no I'm not}, but wake the fuck up. And I don't mean to single out republicans, because a lot of Democrats aren't to be trusted either. And a lot of the judicial system isn't to be trusted. And the police force is corrupt as all hell. And the government and congress, and just people in general aren't to be trusted. Shit, even your friends and family members don't always have your best interest at heart. But that's for you to figure out on your own. I have great friends and family, so I'm lucky. But we aren't all that lucky.

Here's a graph in case you're tired of reading:

Where do you fit on the graph? Where does your family fit? Where do your friends fit? Does this make sense to you? Does it make sense that the billionaires and millionaires of this country pay a lower percentage on their taxes than you do? Does that make you mad at all? No, you say? You're stupid as fuck then. 2.5% of this country is upper class according to this graph. But here's some more factual evidence to back up what I'm saying: Only 6% of Americans make more than $97,000 a year. For an entire household that would put you in the top 20%. Pretty good. But not great, right? Especially living in San Diego. Or San Francisco. Or New York. Or wherever else it's nearly impossible to live but you do it anyway. The bottom line is that you need to know where you fit in this country. Know that you're most likely middle class to lower class. If you're part of the upper class and you make $150,000 a year and you earned that shit the hard way, then good for you. If you earned it you deserve it. But share with the less fortunate. Don't be a scumbag. Or be a scumbag and I'll come take all of your money and give it to someone that's not a douchebag like yourself. Once you know your role you can do big things in life. Vote for people that care about you. Let's change this world. Who's in? Anyone? Nobody? C'mon, people. Let me know what's up. Let me know how you wanna help out, or let me know how you're already helping out. Let's make life good for everyone.

Now it's time to attack the trust fund shit heads. Or just arrogant, entitled, fuck bags. If you feel entitled to any and everything, you're worthless. You're not entitled to shit unless you earn it. Do you know what hard work is? I didn't think so. What are you Harvard grads doing to change this world? Nothing? Fuck you then, pal. Fuck you and that damn oversized horse you rode in on. Yeah, the one your mom paid for you piece of shit. You're worthless. Not worth a dime. Do something with your money. Do something with your family's money. The money you did absolutely nothing to earn, dick. Fuck a silver spoon. You had a golden spoon since birth. What are you going to do to make your life worthwhile? Anything? Nothing? Prove me wrong. Or don't. Get offended. If you're offended that's terrific. That means I'm staring you in the damn eyes and chastising you in a very offensive manner. That's how it should be. I intend everything I say. No pussyfooting here, bud. Do something productive.

Go!
